About
Gravity is not something that happens to us — it is something we are in a dynamic relationship with.
Our bodies are constantly responding, reorganising and adapting through the subtle interplay of yield, lift, ground reaction, breath, and fascia. This weekend immersion explores the living architecture of the body through both anatomical understanding and embodied movement inquiry.
Join Julie Martin and Gary Carter as they weave together Gary’s deep anatomical knowledge of tensegrity, fascial continuities, and structural responsiveness with Julie’s guided movement, sensory awareness, and playful somatic exploration. Together, they open a space where theory becomes felt experience, and movement becomes an intelligent, intuitive conversation with gravity.

What we will explore
- The feet in the upright response
- Tensegrity and gravity as collaborative forces
- Coming from above and coming from below
- Touch and yielding to the earth
- Touch and yielding to the space around us
- Maintaining space in the joints
- Breath as lift and lightness
- Inhale and exhale as architectural support
- Buoyancy in the tissues
- Fascial tonicity and internal organisation
This weekend is practical and immediately applicable for students and teachers alike. Rather than lecture-heavy learning, we will prioritise embodied experience, sensation-led enquiry, and intelligent movement that arises from within.
Who This Weekend Is For
- Yoga teachers and trainees seeking deeper anatomical and somatic intelligence
- Movement educators and bodyworkers curious to explore fascia, tensegrity and gravity in a practical and immediately applicable way
- Practitioners who wish to move beyond lecture, into direct embodied experience — less talk, more sensing, more doing
- Anyone curious how to integrate breath, buoyancy, yield, space and structural intelligence into their movement or teaching
No prior anatomy or somatics training required — just an open mind, a willingness to explore, and a grounded sense of curiosity.
