Follow the Unexpected

Unlocking creativity & awareness through movement and stillness

Sunday 31 January 2027  ·  10:00–12:30

About the masterclass

What happens when you take a familiar movement and give it a different quality?

Soft as silk. Rocky and uneven. Rippling, vibrating or quietly unfolding.

In this 2.5-hour masterclass, we’ll use words and imagery to spark curiosity and discover how differently we can experience the same movement.

We’ll begin with clear structures and guided sequences, then play with texture, rhythm and intention. How does “silky” change the way you shift your weight? Where might “rocky” take you? What happens when you allow a vibration to travel through a familiar sequence? When we pause and observe, are we met with a new curiosity?

Through Embodied Yoga, intuitive movement and playful improvisation, we’ll notice the habits we return to and explore what becomes possible when we follow a different impulse. Each starting point offers room to interpret, experiment and make discoveries of your own.

Come ready to move, imagine and surprise yourself — with a generous rest to finish.

Your Teacher

Hi, I'm Julie.

I don't teach yoga as a fixed set of rules. I teach it as a living, breathing inquiry — one that honours your unique body, draws on the best of modern science, and never stops asking why.

30 years of research into anatomy, natural movement, and embodiment. Over 500 teachers trained.  And a quiet rebellion against everything yoga was told to be
