From the very beginning, Brahmani yoga teacher training programmes have gone beyond the industry standards and created courses that make a difference. Yoga practices are in evolution, life is in evolution, and understanding how yoga meets the modern world has been the driving force behind refining and developing the structures and content of each programme.
As well as deepening your personal understanding, we hold great importance on interaction and feedback of information. You will be presenting and voicing your own experiences, telling your own stories and learning from them throughout the programme. Participants will learn to integrate skills and knowledge and make it applicable for teaching and personal growth.
At Brahmani Yoga you will never learn a script or be told to teach only a certain type of sequence or asana style. Julie and all the Brahmani team will provide skills to equip you for the creative process as a teacher. Our ‘philosophical unfolding’ and ‘anatomical myth busting’ classes stand in equal measure with the movement work. Yoga is about bringing wholeness to life - to be lived and to be present and to share that with others in a professional and open way.
What to expect
This course is a total of 30 days separated into 3 - 10 day modules throughout 12 months. There will be support systems set up in place in between modules including work groups and a private facebook group where we can keep up communication, help and inspiration.
It will include all the elements needed to become an informed and inspiring teacher. Through daily immersions into the depths of Movement, Philosophy, Pranayama and Meditation, Anatomy, Sacred Dance and more you will unfold as a practitioner and learn skills to teach what you experience.
Evolve your yoga
The world of yoga is evolving and in the 25 years that Julie has been practicing and teaching she has seen so much change and different diversions. New information arises and many fractions begin to present it in different ways. Julie will guide you to begin to understand the evolution and focus on an embodied practice, moving away from the gymnastics that is often on offer. Bringing the practice back to the essence of what is important for us as beings, using movement that allows us to explore without the dogma that intimidates.

This non-refundable deposit is payable once you have been accepted in order to reserve your space. The balance for the course is due before the 1st March 2021

In extenuating circumstances, such as bereavement or serious illness, the course can be deferred to a later date, subject to availability and deferral fee. No refunds, credits or transfers are available on cancellation prior to, during or after the start date of any teacher
Schedule and Support
This course is a total of 30 days separated into 3 - 10 day modules throughout 12 months. Please come prepared for 8 hours of work per day. The programme contains 265 contact hours and there is a minimum of 60 hours of pre-course homework. 325 Hours Total.

Module two: 29 July to 7 August 2021

Morning session: 8:00 - 11:30
Lunch: 11:30 - 13:00

Support Between Modules
We will organise "Work groups" for this course once we get started. You will be requested to check in with your group (3-4 people) at least once a month to support each other in any of the tasks set for the periods between modules. Also to be sounding boards for each other as you begin to integrate your new skills and information.
We will set up a private facebook group where you can post questions or comments. I will post a live video to answer questions or review something that perhaps you want clarification with. I find this works really well for everyone in the group and we can use it to also check in with each other, share ideas or notify the group if you have an event coming up in your area that you'd like to invite your fellow students to.
Julie Martin wants you to think outside the box, get off your mat, shake up the old dogmas and find freedom to unfold into the beauty of a yoga practice that emerges from the inside. With over 25 years of experience and an international following of students and teachers alike, Julie’s greatest aim is to inspire. Her particular passion for human movement means continual investigation of new anatomical approaches, working with natural movement, range of motion, integrated stability and letting go of some of the old asana myths in order to move with the body and not against it. The practice is always an enquiry, a somatic exploration of sensation, movement and stillness.
15 years ago Julie set up Brahmani Yoga in Goa, India after teaching in Brighton, UK for over 8 years. The largest motivation for the yoga centre was to create a community that could join together each winter season and practice without judgment, learn to let everything evolve and be totally inclusive to all yogis. Yoga in Kiel
Kiel is a medium size city situated in northern Germany by the Baltic sea.
Our yoga studio is in the center of Kiel, you reach us in 5 minutes by foot from the train station or ferry terminal. Kiel is easily reached from the north and the south. You can travel by boat from Gothenburg, Sweden or from Oslo, Norway right into the Port of Kiel, or by train (Amsterdam 6 h or Kopenhagen 5 h). If you wish to come by plane, the airport bus takes you from Hamburg Airport straight to Kiel train and bus station in approximately 1,5 h.
You can find affordable accommodation on different hotel booking sites or Air bnb. You might need our address: Walkerdamm 1, 24103 Kiel, to find an accommodation close to the studio.
There is an organic supermarket around the corner as well as the farmers ́ market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. As we are in the city there are many different cafes and restaurants close by.
