Pause & Presence
Listen Without Judgement
Uncover many ways to invite the practice of pausing and stillness and being available for yourself in Julie's workshop "Pause and Presence". This will involve working with asana and other movement, working with the breath and also working with our words, writing, and relating to others.
"Love the place where you are, love the ground upon which you stand, for it is this very ground that joy is heading toward, the ground from which your new life will grow, even if now upon the ground, you find your own inability to wait." - JEFF FOSTER
Life happens, stuff happens, we get swept up in a rhythm that often isn’t a conscious choice and we get stuck wondering why, even with a yoga practice, we seem to be grasping at our own wellbeing. Our intentions to find time, be peaceful, listen to our inner voice can so easily be lost in a world that equates doing more with being a “good” person.
The answer is in the ability to PAUSE. When we understand the power of just pausing and listening to what is really unfolding from within, we not only create a deeper relationship with ourselves but we give space for change to happen or to embrace what is. This is really where the yoga practices are leading us. Bliss and inner wisdom aren’t in the doing, they’re in the presence of being in the here and now. The practice is not in the asana, it’s in the awareness.
During this weekend workshop we will uncover many ways to invite the practice of pausing, stillness, listening without judgement and being available for yourself. This will involve working with asana and other movement, working with the breath and also working with our words, writing, and relating to others. Meditation will be in stillness and also in movement. We will find the precious space between the “doing” and experience how much is there, how to receive it and also how this reflects in our relationships with others.

About Your Teacher
Julie Martin wants you to think outside the box, get off your mat, shake up the old dogmas and find freedom to unfold into the beauty of a yoga practice that emerges from the inside. With over 25 years of experience and an international following of students and teachers alike, Julie’s greatest aim is to inspire. Her particular passion for human movement means continual investigation of new anatomical approaches, working with natural movement, range of motion, integrated stability and letting go of some of the old asana myths in order to move with the body and not against it. The practice is always an enquiry, a somatic exploration of sensation, movement and stillness.
