10 Day Yoga Holiday In Rajasthan, India
Rajasthan, India.
Helen Noakes
13 - 23 March 2010
Costs from £500
Treat yourself to a holiday of a life-time in the spectacular beauty and richness of Rajasthan.
Standing high on a plateau of the great Vindhychal ranges is the 16th century Castle Bijaipur. Having been occupied by Kings and Queens for centuries, the present Maharaja (a great lover of yoga) has opened the doors of his exquisite castle to the public. The hospitality is so wonderful you are made to feel like a maharaj yourself from the moment you arrive. Surrounded by villages and breathtaking views of the valley, this really is a very special place.

Prices begin at Rs 60,000 for yogis in twin/double share accommodation and Rs 75,000 for solo yogis
MORNING CLASSES Intensive Vinyasa Flow
Mornings will start with gentle warm ups, move into flowing Vinyasa sequences, followed by 'freedom of self exploration' – a time for students to explore motion, go with the flow of bodily movement and make the practice their own. This will be a time for everyone to let go of structures, patterns and habits, freeing oneself from perceived limitations, expectations, whilst letting go of any inhibitions in physical movement. The second half of the class will focus on sitting postures, with some hip and shoulder openers as well as back bends and inversions.
AFTERNOON CLASSES Pranayama and meditation OR Asana technique work.
Three afternoon sessions will be Pranayama and Mediation, where we will focus on how and why we use the breath. Working on some basic pranayama techniques, we then move into some guided meditations to let go of the constant influx of needless thoughts that circle in our minds. We will start with some gentle, restorative asana work in order to allow the body to sit more comfortably.
The other three afternoons we will work on different asana techniques. One day will be dedicated to back bending and the problems that arise prohibiting us to do back bends comfortably. One day will be shoulder and hip openers to help with bindings, inversions and padmasana. The remaining day will be ‘Question and Answer’ time to bring up personal difficulties that you may have - we will then look at how to get through them, physically as well as mentally.
THE PACKAGE
INCLUDED: a seven day Yoga course of twice daily classes (except one day with a free afternoon); nine nights’ accommodation ;ten breakfasts and nine evening meals; an excursion.
NOT INCLUDED: flights; insurance; any transport; items of a personal nature (such as laundry, phone calls etc); any meals or drinks other than those specified ; any extra classes or treatments.

Back bending can be one of the most challenging postures in our asana practice. Here we will discover what limits us in our back bends, whether it be shoulders, hips, breath or even just fear, and how to move beyond these obstacles to create free flowing movement in our backs.
In this workshop, Julie invites you to be open and receptive in order to discover all the possibilities and eliminate your limitations.
This workshop is suitable for all levels and styles of yoga practitioners, especially those less confident with back bends and who are looking to go further.
