Melanie CooperBack bending can be one of the most challenging postures in our asana practise. Sometimes we work with lower back pain in our back bends and believe it is about our back being stiff. However, the truth is that lower back pain is usually caused by stiff hips (psoas) and incorrect use of feet.

Limitation in the movement of the shoulders also inhibits ease in these postures. In this workshop we will discover what limits us in our back bends, whether it be shoulders, hips, breath or even just fear, and how to move beyond these obstacles to create free flowing movement in our backs. This workshop is suitable for all levels and styles of yoga practitioners.
