"A Woman should trust her own insticts, her own psyche, her own intuition more than anything else." Yogi Bhajan
This workshop will work with yoga and reveal secret meditations for women from the tradition of Kundalini Yoga. When we work with Kundalini energy, we wake up our life force - our shakti energy - we bring our awareness to our chakras, to how energy moves in the body and most importantly turn our attention inwards. We will focus on yoga postures for insight and radiance - everyday yoga for women, as well as working on a calm and open heart centre. We will also use meditation, chanting and dance to celebrate the goddess within.
One meditation we will share together has been denied to women for centuries. It is a meditation which symbolically brings together the yoni (feminine) and the lingam (masculine) through mudra. This meditation of wholeness brings into balance the male and female energies that spiral through us. Shakti is pure energy, not tied down to any form - she is fluid, action in motion, the spark of life force.
"I want woman to be strong. I am a believer that when a woman falls a generation falls; when a man falls, an individual falls." says Yogi Bhajan, the master of Kundalini Yoga. He believed that through empowered women, a shift in consciousness would occur that would radiate throughout the whole world. Acknowledging our strength in a graceful way, empowering ourselves through compassion and consciousness. Yogiji created different practices and postures to uplift and nurture women.
