How to get to Brahmani Yoga
We are located in the grounds of the Hotel Bougainvillea (sometimes called "Grandpa's Inn")
From Mapusa
(pronounced Mapsa)
Take the main Mapusa to Anjuna Road towards the beach. After about 3kms, pass the large white church, we are on the left side of the road just after the Calangute-Soilim junction. If you are in a taxi ask the driver to take you to the Hotel Bougainvillea.
From Anjuna
Take the main Mapusa road inland and we are about 1-½ kms from the Starco Junction on the right hand side.
From Calangute/Baga
Take the main road north towards Anjuna. At the junction of the Anjuna road turn left and we are just on the left hand side.
- Goa is accessible by train or plane. There is only one airport usually referred to just as "Goa Airport". The closest Train station to us is "Thivim" which is on the direct line from Bombay. If you are coming North from Mysore or Kerala the train usually stops at Margao which is about an hour away. If you know your arrival time in advance contact us ahead of time and we can organise a taxi to collect you at either the train station or airport. Phone 93 7056 8639 or email Joanne@brahmaniyoga.com
- The climate is sub tropical in Goa which means its fairly humid, but bear in mind that it is winter here during our season and it gets cold in the evenings and early mornings during December, January and February. A light jacket or sweater is helpful.
- We don't recommend you take Malaria tablets if you are only going to be traveling in Goa as there are almost no cases of Malaria here and the tablets can make you ill. There are good, inexpensive mosquito repellents you can buy here that seem to work better than foreign ones.
- Most people get around by motorbike or moped here so bring an international drivers license. It should cost between 100-200 rupees a day for rental and we can recommend reliable rental places for you. If you don't feel comfortable driving around yourself taxi rides are about 150 rupees per trip in the general area and you can usually hire a car and driver at a daily rate of 300 rupees.
- Local accommodation can cost anything from 200 rupees to 2,000 rupees a day depending on your needs for creature comforts. If you are not booking a package deal with us we recommend checking out either the Rough Guide or the Lonely Planet for places to stay in the area. Anjuna is close to Vagator, Baga and Calangute, Siolim, Chapora and Mapusa. All of these places are close enough to get to classes easily.
